About Us

My name is Brian Henley and I am the owner and lead inspector for Keystone Home & Environmental Services. I am graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.  After graduation I began work as a field engineer and consultant for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  I was tasked with supervising structural concrete and steel repairs on the original Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Alexandria, Virginia.  As work was completed, I would update the engineering drawings to reflect any as-built changes.  I also spent countless hours inspecting and evaluating the remainder of the bridge for additional deficiencies.  When that contract came to a close, I began work as a design engineer for a transportation firm in Fairfax.  While there, I worked on several new bridges for the Springfield Interchange project.  My responsibilities included developing preliminary designs for structural steel connections and concrete bridge decks, creating detailed scale drawings, laying out steel connection details, and generating rebar schedules. As time went by though, I decided to make my first career change and began taking classes to learn computer programming.  I picked it up quickly and soon had a job with a debt collection company in Fairfax. I was with them for seven years before being laid-off when the company was bought out.
I had always been interested in the home inspection field and decided to take some classes shortly after being laid-off to see if it was something I would enjoy. As it turned out I really enjoyed the class and learned the material quickly.  My background and experience in construction and engineering made it easy for me to learn the terminology and soon I was on my way to becoming a home inspector. Since that time, I have graduated from the Master Inspection course offered by The American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT).  I also have taken and passed the National Home Inspectors Examination.  In addition, I am a NEHA certified Radon Measurement Provider and am taking courses to become a certified radon mitigator.  I am an active member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors (VAREI) and regularly attend local chapter meetings and conferences.  I have inspected numerous single family homes, townhomes, and condos both old and new.

All of our inspection reports must be authentic and stand up to critical examination.
